WCA Waste Notice of Reduced Services Due to COVID-19 Pandemic

A reduction in WCA staff due a positive COVID-19 test is temporarily affecting recycle and bulk trash collection for your neighborhood. Your new schedule, until further notice, will be:

  • No recycle collection services are being offered at this time. Please do not place your recycle cart out. No items will be collected from your recycle cart.
  • Regular household waste placed inside your trash cart will be collected as usual on each scheduled collection date.
  • Bulk trash collection (items or bags placed outside your trash cart) is limited to a two item or two bag maximum.

At WCA, our highest priority continues to be the health and well-being of our customers and staff during an evolving situation. Last night, we learned that one of our drivers has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.  As a precaution, the helpers and other drivers who have been in close contact with this driver have been quarantined.

How Will This Affect Your Service?

WCA provides an essential service for the Houston Metroplex and our mission is to provide the best service possible to our communities. For now, our priority will shift to collect the putrescible waste first.  This is the material that begins to breakdown and decompose first in the Houston heat.

This means that residents need to separate their putrescible waste from their bulk waste to ensure proper and timely collection.  A two-bag maximum for bulk, per home, will be picked on your scheduled service day.  WCA/VF Waste Services will not be collecting carpet or construction materials as regular collection related to this event.

Recycle Services:

  • We are suspending recycle service for the greater Houston area.

Please Note: Suspended services due to this event will not be made up or pushed to another service day.

WCA/VF Waste services made these decisions due to the severity of the conditions, and safety concerns to our community and the WCA family.  We thank you for your partnership and for your patience and continued trust in WCA/VF Waste Services.

Payment Options

You may now pay via credit/debit/prepaid card or eCheck. American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa are all accepted. Listed below are our available options for your convenience. 

First Billing Services assesses a convenience fee for each credit, debit, prepaid card and eCheck transaction. Card transactions will be assessed a 3.00% fee. One-time eCheck transactions will be assessed a $1.00 fee, and recurring eCheck transactions will be assessed a $1.00 fee.

Log onto EDP’s Payment Portal or contact EDP at 832-467-1599 to sign up for auto payments. You can select your payment method, enter your due date of the 28th, and the payment amount. Each month, you will receive an email confirming the payment was successful.

Enclose payment stub with your check or money order in the return envelope provided. Please allow ample time to ensure delivery before the due date. Mail your payment, addressed to the District, to P.O. Box 3264, Houston, TX 77253-3264.

Our two office locations are 17495 Village Green Drive, Houston, TX 77040 and 2035 FM 359, Suite I, Richmond, TX 77406.
Both office locations have a drop box slot on the front door. In addition, there is a drop box on the gate located at 15903 Squyres Road, Spring, TX 77379. Please insert a check or money order, along with the payment stub, in the return envelope. Our payment processing department will post the payment the following business day.
Payments can be made via your at-home internet service. Please allow 7-10 business days, prior to the due date, for the payment to be received.
